WRESTLING
BOUT AT OAMARU Wrestling fans of South Canterbury will be interested to learn that the Oamaru Wrestling Association has arranged a contest between two of the best grapplers in New Zealand at the present time, Floyd Marshall, of Arizona and John Spellman, a firstclass wrestler. This match is to take place in the Oamaru Opera House on Tuesday night next, July 20. Marshall weighs 17 stone, and bears a strong resemblance to the late Jim Browning who first instructed him in the art of wrestling. Spellman has gained great prominence, especially in view of the fact that he defeated “Lofty” Blomfield. He is becoming well-known as a successor to Joe Savoldi and Paul Boesch, for his drop-kicks and flying tackles are fast and dangerous.
