SALE OF PONIES
DEMANDS FOR AUSTRALIAN STOCK United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received July 16, 11.45 p.m.) LONDON, July 16. The London correspondent of “The Sun” states that remarkable success was achieved by the Ashton Brothers of Goulburn (New South Wales), in an auction sale of polo ponies, used by them in matches in England. All the ponies were bred in New South Wales. Twenty-nine realised 9625 guineas, an average of 385 guineas, which is a record. The top price of 1700 guineas was paid by the Maharajah of Kashmir. Other prices being 1000, 810 and 800 guineas.
