NEW ZEALANDERS IN ENGLAND MATCH AGAINST DURHAM United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph -Copyright LONDON, July 15. The weather was excellent and the wicket good for the New Zealanders match against Durham. The attendance was 2000. Vivian scored an aggressive 87 out of the first 127. He hit nine fours and two sixes. Carson gave an encouraging display, his stroke play being characterised by its certainty. His score included five fours. He was eventually dismissed leg before to the left hander Grigor, who was bowling round the wicket. Kerr was freer than in recent games, registering nine fours, mostly drives and pulls. The New Zealand total is not especially impressive, considering the quality of the attack. The New Zealand bowling was restricted. Roberts’ shoulder is still preventing him from participating. Weir and Carson were the opening bowlers, but Moloney and Gallichan were soon called upon. Three batsmen were out for 42, and then the fourth wicket partners attacked the slow bowling successfully.
