LODGE MEETINGS
The fortnightly meeting of Timaru Lodge was held on Tuesday evening, A.D. Bro. S. Chittock presiding over a large attendance. A large amount of correspondence, Inward and outward, was dealt with. The Bards reported that three brothers had declared off the funds and sick pay amounting to the sum of £l2/16/8 was passed for payment. A.D. Bro. McGrath reported having attended a meeting of the Juvenile Lodge. Mr A. Toneycliffe was In attendance and gave a very interesting lecture on First Aid. Several letters were received from Lodges conveying greetings and expressing thanks for giving them the privilege of attending the combined meeting which was held recently. Three candidates were nominated for membership. The Lodge closed at an early hour to carry out the syllabus, the occasion being a -- -pllmentary social to Grand President Bro. V. H. Keay. A.D. Bro. S. Chittock welcomed the Grand Master, Bro. H. J. Clarke of the 1.0.0. F., Sisters Bird and Burgess and the Recabite Lodge, Bro. C. Walker, V.P., Hibernian Lodge, Bro. F. Fergusson C.R., Court Southern Cross, Bro Barkley N.G., Loyal Timaru and Bro. D. Clark N.G., 1.0.0. F. Lodge. A progressive euchre tournament was held, Mrs S. Chittock winning the ladies’ prize, and P.A. Bro. H. Fox the gentlemen’s prize. Supper was served, after which dancing was indulged In until •mdnight.
