BASKETBALL
REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES Acceptance of the invitation of the Mackenzie Basketball Association to play a representative match at Fairlie on July 3 was made at the meeting of the Management Committee of the Temuka Basketball Association on Wednesday evening. Mrs L. Templeton was appointed chaperone, and arrangements were made for the procuring of uniforms and transport. Mr H. F. Christie presided over the meeting. The chairman reported that he had recently attended the opening of the new court of the Temuka District High School, and that he had represented the Association at this function. Orton Club advised that one of its players had received an injury last Saturday, and desired to claim -medical compensation. The secretary was instructed to forward the claim to the insurance company for attention. On the motion of Mrs J. C. Hayhurst, it was decided to invite the Waimate Association to play first, second and third grade representative matches at Temuka on July 10.
