Mayfield Hack Handicap: Cape Gabo, Dictate. Dromore Steeplechase: Streamline, Polydora. Moreton Hack Handicap: Palmyra, Miracle. Maronan Handicap: Swordstick, Greek Gold.

PLACINGS QUERIED

By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, June 24.

Many patrons of the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting yesterday maintain that Our McKinney should have been placed third in the Liverpool Handicap, instead of Bonny Azure.

After the race the press representatives communicated with the judge, Mr E. V. Sutherland, but he said he could do nothing, as it was too late. This morning the secretary of the Club, Mr A. G. Mabee, said that nothing could be done. The trotting rules provided that the judge had five minutes in which to alter the placings. This was not done, and so he (Mr Mabee) gave the order for the dividends to be paid out. Interviewed to-day, the judge said the colours were plastered with mud, making it awkward to distinguish them. Both he and the assistanttimekeeper made Bonny Azure third. It was not till the chairman- of the press gallery told him that Our McKinney was third that he had any idea that a mistake might have been made. “No one is Infallible,” he said, "but the conditions were exceptional, and I might have mistaken the colours in the circumstances.
