GLENAVY SCHOOL

APPOINTMENT OF MASTER The Education Board has confirmed the appointment of Mr A. E. Coumbe as teacher of the Glenavy School. Mr Coumbe, who will take over his duties on July 2, is not a stranger to the district, having taught at Waihaorunga about two years ago. He is at present teaching In Dunedin. Mr L. Mclntyre, of Timaru, is at present relieving teacher at the Glenavy School. Since Glenavy has had a master, the boys have become keen footballers. They recently played Tawai School, which they defeated by 23 points to 3. GOLF The following is the draw for the 36 hole non-handicap medal round to be played by members of the Laoies’ Golf Club to-day: Mrs Shallcrass and Miss Burrows, Mrs Lewis and Mrs Leadbetter, Miss Powell and Mrs 711son, Miss Bitchener and Mrs Watters. HOCKEY The following will represent the Waimate Club again Parata at Victoria Park to-morrow: Misses E. Sherwin, A. Baker, L. Douthwaite, B. Roberts, G. Moncrieff, D. Giles, I. Kenna rd, P.
