Following an unfinished innings of 271 against Derby, the Yorkshire colt, Leonard Hutton, celebrated his twentyfirst birthday with an equally fine 153 against Leicester in 260 minutes. His sccore included 10 fours and was his third successive century. Herbert Sutcliffe, his mentor, expresses the opinion that Hutton will be England’s opening batsmen for the next 20 years.
