EXPENDITURE OF £1,564,006 INVOLVED By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, June 23 The Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board to-night adopted a comprehensive scheme for the drainage of the southern area of the metropolitan district with treatment works and an outfall at Brown’s Island. This scheme, which will ultimately involve an expenditure of £1,564,000, was recommended by the secretary-engineer, Mr H. H. Watkins, in a report presented to the Board in December, 1931, after a tour abroad, during which he examined and studied every known method of sewage disposal. The chairman of the board.
