When you see this cleaner, very likely your first thought will be: "It can’t be any good for only £5," but here is the story:— Believing that Vacuum Cleaners were being sold in New Zealand much too high in price, Hay’s, Ltd., asked their London buyers to investigate the position in England, and consequently they made arrangements with a highly reputable firm to supply them direct with Vacuum Cleaners. . To secure the New Zealand agency they had to undertake to receive 500 cleaners per year.
