FEARS ALLAYED
SAFE ARRIVAL OF LAUNCH By Telegraph—Press Association WHANGAREI, June 23. The launch, Catherine E, containing four men and one woman, which left Russell for Rawhiti yesterday, is missing and concern is felt for the safety of the passengers. Other launches are searching. The launch is owned by Mr Howie Blomfleld, and on board were Ti Makariai and his two sons, and Mrs Whui Howe. There was a heavy sea when the launch left Russell earlier than usual, owing to the state of the weather. The run to Rawhiti normally takes an hour and a half. A later message says the launch reached Rawhiti late last night.
