The Paris correspondent of “The Daily Mail” says that Comte de Chambrxxn’s assailant is known by the pen name of Madame de Fontange, but her real name is Madame de la Ferrieres, a former wife of the Deputy Prefect for the Provinces. She is described as a strikingly beautiful and gifted woman, with a wide circle of friends in French and Italian diplomatic circles. She Is aged 30. Point Blank Attack The shooting occurred five minutes before the train to Brussels was due to start. Madame de Fontange fired three times at point blank range.
