SUPPLIES FOR BRITAIN’S FIGHTING SERVICES United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, March 16. The Australian Associated Press is informed that the British Government has decided largely to replace margarine with butter throughout the Navy, Army, and Air Force. It will be all-Empire butter, resulting in New Zealand and Australia securing large orders. Soldiers at present do not receive butter, but in future they will be given an ounce of butter and a half ounce of margarine daily, excepting at stations abroad, where it is impracticable to issue butter.
Extra food rations will operate henceforth throughout the army, including extra meat. More meat, and milk will also benefit New Zealand and Australia.
