COST OF EDUCATION
SUBSTANTIAL INCREASE IN BRITAIN Bri tlah Official Wireless (Received March 10. 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY, March 9. A memorandum on the Board ot Education Estimates shows that they are based or. the assumed attendance in public elementary schools of 455,300. The cost per pupil of elementary education for the year works out at £15,11/1. The memorandum states that the total expenditure from the Exchequer and from local rates on education, will amount to £95,207.000 in 1937, compared With £92.886.000 last year.
