In the one-day. match against the University team, '“England made 212 fee nine wickets (declared). Hammond made 103, including three sixes and 14 fours. Morrison took two wickets for 46, and Steele three for 64. Combined Universities made 169 for seven wickets. J. Chaplin scored 57, made in 19 minutes, including two sixes and nine fours. W. Loxten scored 39. Verity took three wickets for 13 runs, and Hammond three for 47. The match was drawn.
