UNSHRINKABLE WOOL
READY FOR TRADE One of the latest discoveries of the Wool Industry Research Association which was forecast from London about a year ago, that of unshrinkable wool, has now reached the production stage, according to the Association’s annual report. This development is in chlorination of the wool and the discovery is regarded as a far-reaching one. and is now ready for use on a commercial scale.
Another development in wool which will have wide appeal is that which prevents the rapid yellowing which often occurs from frequent washing. What is called a "neutral bleach’ is produced by using sulphite solutions, and this process, it is claimed, keeps the wool white.
