BRINGING UP THE GRAIN
The best and the cheapest way of cleaning grained doors, or any woodwork that is grain or polished, such as chairs, is to use linseed oil. Take a piece of flannel and soak it with a little of the oil, then rub on the article to be cleaned and polish with a soft cloth. This method preserves the wood and makes it look as if it had been newly grained.
