FAREWELL PARTIES
Many enjoyable parties have been given in honour of the Misses Chassie and Maude Howden, Park Lane, and one of the most enjoyable was the one at which Miss Audrey Holdgate, Bidwill Street, acted as hostess. The party took the form of a “cabin” tea and a number of useful gifts were received by the two sisters. Hydrangeas and nasturtiums decorated the rooms and Miss Holdgate received her guests wearing a frock of floral voile. Those present included Mrs H. Holdgate, Mrs J. Satterthwaite, Mrs J. Rogers, Mrs Pickerill, Mrs S. Fogg, Mrs T. Hobbs, Misses Ina. Macfarlane, Doreen Andrews, Muriel Kelland, Marjorie Heasley, Edith Tanerhill (Ireland), Marjorie Marshall and Dora Shirtcliffe. Mrs S. Fogg and Mrs Pickerill acted as joint hostesses at another enjoyable party in the Misses Howden’s honour. Yesterday a cheery five o’clock party was given by Mrs R. L. Wigley, Highfield, in honour of Miss Vivien Raymond, Pleasant Point, who is leaving to-day for England. The rooms were arranged with pink roses, while gold and orange shaded flowers decorated the dining-room. Mrs Wigley was helped in the entertainment of her guests by her daughters the Misses Hester, Margaret and Prue Wigley.
