SIX THOUSAND SLAUGHTERED
RUTHLESSNESS OF ITALY’S POLICY GRIM FATE OF HELPLESS ABYSSINIANS United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received March 3, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 2. The Paris correspondent of “The Times” states that dreadful details of the Italian reprisals at Addis Ababa after the attempted assassination of Marshal Graziani are believed to be contained in reports which are now in the possession of the British and French Foreign Offices. The reprisals were carried out with a savagery almost beyond description. For three days after the attempt, every able-bodied Italian in Addis Ababa appears to have been encouraged to slaughter natives to his heart’s content with any weapon of his taste. It is estimated that those killed number six thousand.
