Meanwhile five new strikes have begun in Detroit, bringing the total to nine. The Motor Product Company and the Murray Corporation, which are manufacturing bodies and parts of motors, have been closed through the strike of 7000 employees. The Zenith Carebuttor Company has been closed through the strike of 750 workers. Two large restaurants closed through the sit-down strike of the waitresses end kitchen employees. Strikes continued in two other industrial plants, and two Woolworth stores. COPTIC MONKS IN THE FASHION STAY-IN STRIKE IN MONASTERY United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright CAIRO, March 1. Continuing the “stay-in” strike, the Coptic monks allege that the Abbot’s maladministration has reduced the once-flourishing monastery to insolvency. Police efforts to enter the monastery were unsuccessful.
