LICENSEES WARNED
GAMING ON HOTEL PREMISES By Teleernpti —Pr<*SF SMoetation WELLINGTON, March 3. A warning that it Was the responsibility of licensees to see that there was no gaming on hotel premises was issued by Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M., at the quarterly meeting Of the Licensing Committee after SubInspector Fox had stated that recently three bookmakers had been charged with betting on hotel premises :n Auckland. Mr Wilson said that lately there had been a great many convictions for gaming in Auckland, which led One to suppose that there had been a return of marked prosperity to the country. However, men had been wasting their wages; in some instances sustenance men had been wasting money gambling. Licensees should see that this did not take place on hotel premises.
