IMPROVED RAILWAYS IN THE CITY United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received March 3, 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 2. The first contract to be placed in connection v/ith the London pascmger Transport Soard’s •114,500,000 scheme to improve the railway facilities in the north-east of Louden has been placed. The contract provides for boring tunnels for the extension of the Central London underground railway from Liverpool Street to Mile End.
