GOLF
EXHIBITION GAME Bp Telegraph—Pres? Association PALMERSTON N„ March 3. Walter Hagen, whose round was equal to 68, and Joe Kirkwood defeated John Hornabrook, New Zealand amateur champion, and A. E. Guy, winner of the recent professional championship, 3 and 2 at Hokowhitu in a game remarkable for the relentless golf of Hagen rather than brilliance. Kirkwood was uncertain, Hornabrook showed lack of form, and Guy, though outdriving the others, slipped strokes. He could ill afford against Hagen’s golf. There was a big gallery and the course was slow.
