QUOTATIONS ON SMITHFIELD SLIGHT DROP IN LAMB PRICES The New Zealand Meat Producers Board advises that the following are the approximate average prices realised for the week, based on actual transactions of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of meat mentioned and are for representative parcels of the goods offering during the week, being for business done on the basis of delivered to Smithfield market, and/or ex London stores:— (Prices for the two previous weeks are also shown).

Pigs—1211b to 1601 b .. 6i 61 65 Lamb market.—Quiet owing to usual Christmas demand for poultry and heavier meats. Wairangi new season's lamb selling slowly 8d to Sid, ex hooks. Mutton market—Wethers, quiet. Ewes, market steady and unchanged. Beef market.—Frozen beef market quiet and unchanged. Chilled beef, good trade at the better prices. N.Z. porker pigs.—Market steady and unchanged. N.Z. baconer pigs.—Nominal.
