FLYING BOATS TO VISIT NEW ZEALAND United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY. December 26 The “Daily Telegraph” says that arrangements are now being made for one of the new Empire flying boats to visit New Zealand and Australia. The date of the flight is dependent upon the Commonwealth Government. It may be before the Coronation. One of the long-range boats will be used, and it is expected that it will make a seven-day flight to Sydney, and after a short stay will proceed on a survey flight to Ntw Zealand before returning to Britain. LINER AGROUND MISHAP ON MAIDEN VOYAGE United Press Association—By Eeetrle Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, December 25. The German East Africa liner Pretoria, making her maiden voyage to South Africa, grounded in the Solent, after embarking passengers at Southampton. Five hundred passengers and 250 of a crew are aboard. Four tugs are assisting the vessel. LINER REFLOATED VESSEL RETURNING TO PORT United Press Association— By Keetite Telegraph—Copyright (Received December 27, 6.30 pm.) LONDON, December 26. The liner Preotira has been refloated and is returning to Southampton. A later report states that the Pretoria is undamaged and is replacing the 900 gallons of fresh water pettisoned to enable her to be refloated. She leaves for the Cape on Sunday.
