FAULTY EARTH WIRE
BOY RECEIVES FATAL SHOCK By Telegraph— Press Association AUCKLAND. November 26. Through grasping a faulty earth wire to a radio set while playing under a house at Manukau Road. Jack Dormer, aged 10, .son of Mr R. Dormer, of One Tree Hill, received a fatal electric shock. Several boys were playing together when the accident occurred. Apparently the boy's hand came in contact with the wire as it bore signs of burning when he was dragged from beneath the house and examined by a doctor. In Ills opinion death was instantaneous. Officers of (lie Auckland Electric Power Board were summoned Io inspect the wire which was found to be charged will) electricity. This is believed to have been due to a faulty connection m an adaptor feeding the radio set which was also alive. The current, was considered to be sufficient to cause death.
