NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL CRITICISED By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, September 24. The criticism of the New Zealand Swimming Council expressed by the Otago Centre in a circular recently, was not upheld by the Canterbury Centre last evening. The Otago Centre said in the circular that it thought a change from Christchurch in the headquarters of the Council was desirable. The Canterbury Centre affirmed confidence in the Council and instructed its delegate to oppose a change in headquarters from Christchurch. “The burden of the Otago Centre’s complaint is the refusal of the Council to nominate P. E. Mathieson for the Olympic Games,” said the president, Mr M. E. Lyons. "That resolves Itself into a question of fact, in which the Council was the judge.” There was no discussion on the motion to affirm confidence in the Centre and the motion was carried unanimously.
