PLEA FOR PRAYERS FOR LEAGUE
GRAVITY OF SITUATION IN EUROPE APPEAL TO CHRISTIAN CHURCH British Official Wireless (Received September 2, 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY, September 1. The Archbishop of Canterbury has appealed for special prayers in the Churches on September 13 and 20 for the guidance of the Spirit of God at the critical meetings of the Assembly and Council of the League of Nations, at which issues vitally affecting the supreme cause of world peace will be under consideration.
