To the Editor ot '* The Timaru Herald ” Sir,—lt is a pity that the South Canterbury selectors cannot cast their eyes further afield than Timaru when they select the South Canterbury representative footba’’ team. It must be convincing to them to see the two Waimate emergencies pull the game out of the fire at Invercargill last Saturday. If the selectors could have overcome their prejudice against Waimate players before last Wednesday the Shield might now be on display in a shop window in Timaru.—l am, etc., DISGUSTED. Waimate. August 31.
