CANCER PROBLEM
OPINION AT HOME By Telegraph- Press Association WELLINGTON, August 31. Mr Ernest Stanford, national appeal secretary, British Empire Cancer Campaign Society, arrived from London to-day. He stated that he thought the general tendency now ;
to regard the problem of the treatment or prevention of cancer as one which would take considerable tim in elucidation. Progress had been very steady but was largely a process of elimination, as it was not thought that cancer was due to one cause only hut to a group of conditions. In the first three years £200,000 had been raised for the campaign. He praised the work of the New Zealand branches of the Society.
