WOMEN HOAX SENATOR
SUFFRAGETTES DEMONSTRATE OUTSIDE HOUSE A French Senator, M. Merlin, was hoaxed by suffragettes recently. Parcel after parcel was delivered to him. Every one contained rattlers, teddy bears and rocking horses—until his hall looked like an overcrowded toy department. ■ The explanation came when a dozen suffragettes with musical instruments began to play nursery tunes opposite his house. Senator Merlin is a prominent antagonist of the women’s vote, and this was the women’s way of showing him they consider he has reached second childhood. In desperation Senator Merlin telephoned for the police who removed the , suffragettes.
