WINCHESTER
PERSONAL Mr W. J. Oldham, Christchurch, is spending the vacation with his parents. Mr and Mrs H. Oldham, Schoolhouse, Winchester. Mr F. Q. Oldham, of the National Bank of New Zealand, Wanganui, who is on holiday leave will spend part of his holidays with his parents. VALEDICTORY Miss D. G. Wilks, who is leaving the teaching staff of the Winchester School to take up a position at the Puniho School, near New Plymouth, was the recipient of presents from her pupils, basketball team and the young women’s basketball club. Dennisse Moffat made the presentation on behalf of the pupils and staff, Joan Trumper for the school basketball club and Mrs C. J. Mcßratney on behalf of the basketball club. All wished Miss Wilks a happy time in her new school. Miss Wilks thanked all for their presents, which would help her to remember the happy time she had spent during the last two years at the Winchester School. She also wished to thank Mr and Mrs Oldham and Mr Langford for their help and consideration to her during her stay in Winchester. She also thanked Miss McArthur for her help and assistance. She could assure the children that she would always bp interested in the work of the school. Mr Oldham spoke eulogistically of Miss Wilks’ work in connection with the schoql and wished her every success in her new school.
