BASKETBALL
COMPETITIONS CLOSING By defeating High School Old Girls by 26 goals to 13, Pleasant Point on Saturday earned the right to play-off with Temuka Young Women for the first grade championship. The game had been postponed from an date and was the only first grade fixture of the day. In the second grade competition High School were behind by one game through not having played Seadown at the beginning of the season. Their match was the only second grade fixture, High School winning by default and thereby coming level with Clandeboye in championship points, which will probably necessitate a play-off to decide the Winners of the grade. Third grade results were:—Pleasant Point 29 beat Winchester 1, Orari Bridge 1 beat Temuka Young Women 0, Clandeboye 7 beat Geraldine B 6, Orton 1 beat Arowhenua 0, Geraldine A a bye.
