MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Waimate branch of the Women”s Christian Temperance Union was held in St. Paul’s Methodist Hall, when Mrs Kippenberger presided over a large attendance of members and friends. A very enjoyable programme was given by members of the Methodist Women’s Missionary Auxiliary. Mrs Claridge read a very interestingletter from Sister Eleanor Dobbie, a missionary sister working among the Maoris of North Auckland A playette was given by members of the Auxiliary (Mesdames Wilson, Keen and Claridge), and a talk on peace by Mrs Kippenberger. Other items were contributed by Mrs McAvoy, Miss S. Hayman (vocal solos), Mrs Gardiner, Miss D. Welsh (recitations), Miss Palmer (pianoforte solo). Afternoon tea brought an enjoyable meeting to a close.
