WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
HUNTER There was a fair attendance of members at the monthly meeting of
the Hunter Women’s Institute, which was presided over by Mrs Wallace. The roll call was “A Cooking Hint,” and many interesting suggestions were forthcoming. A vote of thanks was passed to all who had helped in any way at th? South Canterbury Winter Show. An interesting talk on gardening was given by Miss M. Mercer. Miss E. Cooper reported on the Dominion conference in Dunedin and was accorded a vote of thanks. Competitions resulted: Supper cloth. Miss Anstey 1, Mrs Manson 2; funniest picture, Mrs L. Robinson 1, Mrs Wallace and Miss Turner equal 2; specimen bloom, Miss Turner 1, Miss Wallace and Miss A. Cooper (equal) 2.
