FOOTBALL CLUB

LADIES’ COMMITTEE A meeting of the ladies’ committee of the Geraldine Football Club was held at the residence of Mrs W. H. Morris, Orari Bridge. Mrs Morris presided, and there were present: Mesdames J. H. Lewis, J. Barrett, J. Powell, L. Mitchell, N. Brown, F. Pratt, T. Hughes, J. P. Cliff, S. H. Turner, J. Tiplady, Misses J. Ford, M. Pratt and E. Powell. Apologies were received from Mesdames P. Hendry, H. B. McShane, A. N. Loach and Miss T. Rule. The balance-sheet of the euchre party and dance held in the Town Hall disclosed the very satisfactory credit of £9 7s. A vote of thanks was accorded to all who had given prizes and donations. On the motion of Mesdames Hughes and Turner it was decided that a dance be held on the night of the seven a-slde tournament. The offer of Mrs J. Tiplady to give a satin bedspread for competition was accepted with thanks. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs Morris, to whom a vote of thanks was accorded.

Owing to sickness, Procters, the Opticians, Christchurch, will be unable to make their regular visit to Geraldine as advertised for Wednesday next the 12th August. Their next visit will be on Wednesday, the 23rd September, when they may be consulted on all defects of eyesight at the Crown Hotel.
