SOUTH SCHOOL
MAD HATTERS’ PARTY Hats of various shapes, sizes, and origin, embracing creations from paper, cardboard, and in one case a swede, afforded much amusement at the South School on Saturday, when a mad hatters’ party was held. The function was organised by the Ladies’ Guild of the school in aid of the school funds. A baby show was held in conjunction with the party. The hats were judged by Mrs M. Satterthwaite, while the judging of the babies was in the hands of Sister F. Adams. Music for the parade was supplied by Mrs A. G. Howard. The awards were as follow: Hats Tallest Hat —Betty Wyatt; Smallest Hat—Roy Sharpies; Prettiest Hat— Valerie Mcßride; Funniest Hat Fiona Gillespie; Special Prizes—Shirley McBride; Audrey Sollus. Babies Girls over 6 months—Marie Grand! 1, Maureen Mann 2. Special—Graham Swatilia. Under « months: Boys—lan McCone; Girls—Eileen Preston.
