MA WARO BRANCH
There was an unusually large attendance of members of the Ma Waro Branch of the W.DJF.U. at the meeting held in the Mona Vale school on Wednesday, over which Mrs Connolly presided. A letter was received from Mrs G. Rich, Cave, thanking the members for their support 5 n connection with the Bay at the Winter Show and enclosing an account of the expenses incurred. Mrs Naughton’s cake brought in £2/11/5 over and above expenses and with this it was decided to open a P.O. Savings Bank account. Three new members were elected. Mrs Connelly gave a most interesting and instructive demonstration of pastry making and Mrs Squire gave an account of the proceedings at the con-ference-held in Wellington, which was much appreciated by the members. Both ladies were accorded a vote of thanks. Competitions resulted. — Premier bloom: Mrs Naughton. Knitting: Miss G. Waters 1, Mrs R. Davison 2, Miss Janet Hogg 3. Short bread: Mrs and M<ss Naughton equal 1, Miss Joan Barrie 3, Miss J. Hogg 4. Apples: Mrs F. Jackson 1, Mrs A. Knubley 2, Mrs R. Davison 3. A guessing competition was won by Mrs Crosbie. Hostesses for the day were Mrs Jackson and Miss C. Hogg.
