PRIVATE DANCE

On Friday evening Mr and Mrs Pithie, “Croftlea,” Arundel, were host and hostess at an enjoyable dance held in their new wool-shed. Dancing was enjoyed by those present. Mr McKechnie (Geraldine), on behalf of those present, thanked Mr and Mrs Pithie for their hospitality, and said he was sure everyone had enjoyed themselves. He hoped it would be the forerunner of many more happy functions. Music was supplied by Mr C. Kelland, extras being played by Mr Rowle. Messrs A. Pringle and J. Hewitt were M.C.’s. STATUE OF CHEF Designs have now been completed for the monument which is to be erected in London, to Escoffier, the famous chef who died last year. Escoffier will be seen sitting at his desk, wearing chef’s clothes and writing out one of his recipes. The base of the statue will represent ,in marble, many of the dishes he Invented, including the “Peche Melba,” and a list of these dishes will be engraved on a tablet by the side of the monument. “POT POURRI” The Theatre Royal will be the centre of attraction next Tuesday when at 8 pun. the curtain will rise on one of the brightest revues that has ever visited this town. Miss Jean Millar has a happy hand of 60 talented people, who in Pot Pourri excel themselves in all that goes to delight the eye and please the ear. The show is a real cascade of novelties. Popular prices of admission are being charged and the box plan is now open at Begg’s.
