WEDDING
McKEOWN—SHAND The wedding of Gordon Alan, third son of Mr and Mrs J. J. McKeown, Hadlow Park, Timaru, and Betty Morton, third daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Milne Shand, Fendalton, Christchurch, took place yesterday afternoon at St. Barnabas Church, Fendalton. The Rev. R. P. Taylor performed the ceremony. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Grace Shand, and Mr H. Sidey of Hawarden was best man. Mr Shand gave away his daughter, who wore a smart navy-blue wool georgette frock, topped with a threequarter swagger coat. The frock was finished with a white suede belt, and two white chenille tassels at the neck. Her Breton sailor hat in navy fur felt was finished with a flower to tone, and she carried a bouquet of red roses. The bridesmaid also wore blue, her tailored frock being trimmed with belt and collar in a lighter shade. Pale blue trimmings finished her hat to match her frock, and her bouquet was of shaded blue flowers. Following the ceremony, Mr and Mrs Shand entertained immediate relatives at a small reception at the Clarendon Hotel. Mrs Shand wore a brown velvet tailored suit with a three-quarter fitting coat, and a beige tulle bow at the neck. Her smart little hat was made entirely of beige and brown feathers, and her bouquet was of autumntinted flowers. Mijs McKeown’s rustred frock was worn with a hat to tone. For travelling the bride chose a tailored brown and fawn suit in worsted. The browij coat had fur lapels. The small brown hat which accompanied the suit had a stiffened eye-veil. Tire bride and bridegroom left for Australia. They intend making their home in Sydney.
