SUMMER MEETING AT ADDINGTON

DAY OF CLOSE FINISHES The weather was almost perfect on Saturday for the summer meeting of the Metropolitan Trotting Club, and the Addington track was very fast. The programme did not cater for the best horses, but the racing was specially good, and except in the “slow” two-mile event the finishes throughout were exciting. The attendance was good, though naturally smaller than a year ago, when the Duke of Gloucester’s visit attracted an unusually large crowd, and the totalisator turnover was only about £lOOO short of that recorded at the Royal meeting, the totals being £17,217/10/and £18,222/10/-, respectively.
