INTERESTING SURGICAL CASE United Press .Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyrtght (Received December 4, 7.40 p.m.) LONDON, December 4. The Prague correspondent of “The Daily Mail” says that Miss Koubkowa voluntarily undergoes an operation on Saturday. The doctors do not guarantee that her desire to become a man will be gratified. The Prague corerspondent of “The Daily Telegraph” reported on October 2 that Miss Zdenka Koubkowa, aged 24, the women’s world track champion, would shortly undergo an operation changing her into a man. It is recalled that Miss Koubkowa refused to be examined in 1934 by the Medical Board of London, which was testifying to the effects of athletics on a woman’s constitution. She resigned in the spring from the Czech Women’s Athletic Federation and did not participate in events in 1935 for an unrevealed reason.
