M.C.C. TEAM IN AUSTRALIA

IMPROVED FORM IN QUEENSLAND On!ted Press Association—Bv Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received December 3, 10.5 p.m.) BRISBANE, December 3. The M.C.C. team defeated Queensland by an innings and 106 runs. Christy made a dour fight to avoid an innings defeat, but, excepting O’Connor, he received little assistance from the tail-enders, giving Marylebone the best win of the tour so far. Doubtless they are an improving side, and the matches here have been good practice for the New Zealand tour. Baxter this match proved himself a class bowler, who will probably come here again. The visitors’ fielding needs tuning up. Following are the scores: M.C.C. First Innings. Barber, c Tallon, b Christy 91 Smith, std.
