At the Moorefleld races yesterday Grand Duke won the second division of the Kogarah Stakes, in which Stratosphere was unplaced. Love Song, who was having his first run after a spell, was third in a strong field in the Flying Handicap. Loud Applause was unplaced in the Maiden Juvenile Handicap, Limbohm and Jutland were unplaced in the Moorefleld Handicap. After Money and Queen Helen were unsuccessful in the Carlton Mile. Won by six lengths, a length and threequarters between second and third Time—3min 591 sec. MURRUMBEENA HANDICAP. Gaystar, 8.9 (Skidmore) 1 Bunsby Gaze, 7.0 (German) 2 Royal Armour, 9.0 (Tomison) .. ..3 Eleven started, including Melisande. Won by half a length, a head between second and third. Bunsby Gaze came from last to second with a terrific burst. Time—2min 35sec. GODFREY WATSON STEEPLECHASE. Calfly, 9.12 (Meredith) 1 Sarno, 9.5 (Meagher) 2 Character, 9.0 (Scarlett) 3 Nine started. Won by a length and a quarter, a length and three-quarters between second and third. Time—4min 425 sec. East Cape was unplaced in the first division of the Lillimur Handicap for two-year-olds. Whornside was third in the second division of the same race. Cape Morn was fourth of 22 starters in the Kambrook Trial Handicap, while Metre was unplaced in the Melvina Welter Handicap.
