AUSTRALIAN APPOINTMENTS IN THE EAST United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received May 8, 9.40 am.) CANBERRA, May 8. Tile Cabinet to-day appointed Mr CE. Critchley, as Australian Trade Commissioner at Batavia and Netherlands East Indies. Mr Critchley has been assistant Trade Commissioner in Canada for six years. The Cabinet will announce similar appointments for Tokio and Shanghai within a few days.
TRADE TALKS IN NEW ZEALAND United Press Association—By Rlectrlo Telegraph—Copyright (Received May 8, 9.40 p.m.) CANBERRA, May 8. The Minister for Customs (Mr T. White) will visit New Zealand at the end of this month to pursue trade talks.
