The Rev. J. K. Reid, of Epsom, Auckland, has accepted a call to the North-East Valley Baptist Church.
The death is announced from Wellington of Mr William Cullen, formerly chief inspector for machinery for New Zealand, aged 74. Mr George L. Barker, who has been in charge of the Union Steam Ship Company’s office at Rotorua, has been transferred to the Vancouver office. Viscount Cobham has been elected president of the Marylebone Cricket Club, according to a cable from London. Messrs F. A. Hetherington, E. T. Keown (Dunedin). F. J. Kent (Christchurch), L. P. Parker, and W. Williams (Wellington) are registered at the Dominion. Mr W. S. Pratt, who has been In charge of the Reefton District High School for the last five and a half years, has received notice of, his appointment to the position of headmaster of Marlborough College. Messrs B. C. Bradley, F. Langbein, G. B. Fleetwood (Christchurch). B. Jenkins (Invercargill). w. Baker ( Wellington). R. J. McLaren (Oarnaru) and V. J. Delaney (Palmerston North) are staying at the Empire. Messrs V. Potts (Opotiki), B. C. Murray (Wellington), B. N. Murray (Lake Tekapo), L. A. Marquet, L. A. Walsh (Auckland), and E. Jabaar (Melbourne) are staying at the Grosvenor. Mr James J. Buchan. M.A., Dip. Ed., of Dunedin, has been appointed to the staff of the Southland Technical College and will take up his new duties at the beginning of the second term. Since graduating at the Otago University with first-class honours in history, Mr Buchan has taught at the Milton District High School, the Rotorua High School and the North Dunedin Intermediate School. A warm tribute was paid at Wednesday's meeting of the Lyttelton Harbour Board to the services of Captain Hugh Monro, who is retiring from the board. “In the name of the vast body of people whom we said the chairman (Mr E.
