NEW THEATRE
CINEMA LICENSE GRANTED EARLY START LIKELY Yesterday, Mr P. A. El worthy, of Gordon’s Valley, received advice of the granting of a license for the new theatre which is to be erected in Stafford Street. The theatre will be located in premises now occupied by Messrs Horwell and Osborn, who will remove to new buildings in Sophia Street, the site for which has just been cleared by the removal of one of the oldest dwellings in the town. Alterations to the Stafford Street premises will be carried out by the owner who Will lease the theatre to Amalgamated Theatres, Ltd. It is understood tha,t the undertaking will be commenced at an early date.
