WOODBURY
HOUSEHOLDERS’ MEETING The annual meeting of householders was held in the Woodbury School on Monday night. Mr J. Fifield, who presided over a small attendance of householders, read the annual report and balance-sheet, which were adopted. He reviewed the work of the year and stated that the finances had been satisfactory. Unfortunately the attendance of pupils had gone down, and Miss Lyons, the assistant mistress, had in consequence been transferred to Marlborough. The capitation allowance had also been reduced. It was decided to celebrate the King’s Jubilee on Friday, May 10, by the planting of a native totara tree. PERSONAL Recent visitors to “Sundrum” Guest House include: Miss Scott and Miss Kerr (Sydney), Mrs Meyer, Mr and Mrs Bueri, Miss Bradley, Mr and Mrs Cameron (Dunedin), Mr and Mrs Pankhurst (Oamaru), Mrs and Miss McLean (Timaru), Mrs and Miss Boal.
