ECHO OF REVOLT
BRITISH APPEAL TO GREECE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received April 30, 7 p.m.) LONDON, April 30. In the House of Commons in informing Mr George Landsbury (Leader of the Opposition) that the Government, through his Majesty’s Minister at Athens had expressed satisfaction that order had been restored, and hoped that a domestic peace would prevail. Sir John Simon added that it was not for his Majesty’s Government to judge the merits of individual cases, but traditional friendship entitled it to express the hope that the Greek Government would see its way to exercise clemency and limit capital punishment as far as possible. (Cheers.)
