LEG BEFORE RULE M.C.C. DECISION CRITICISED United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received December 19, 1.15 a.m.) LONDON, December 18. The Executive Council of the Club Cricket Conference, which represents the rank and file cricketers, passed a resolution that the Marylebone Cricket Club’s suggestion to alter the leg before rule was neither necessary nor desirable in club cricket. Grinter, of Essex, who captained the Conference’s sides in representative games, says the alteration in the law will lead to a hopeless state of affairs and not more than 10 to 15 per cent, of club umpires are capable of interpreting the rule properly.
